Liz Squire

Liz Squire is a Director at Trident DMG.  She has significant experience developing and executing bespoke public relations, public affairs, and crisis communications campaigns based on media relations, thought leadership, and third-party support. Liz helps clients tell their stories in the media and engage with policymakers to obtain results for reputational, regulatory, and policy goals. She works with clients across a number of industries, with a special focus on technology, biotech, and life-science companies.

When working with her life-science and biotech clients, Liz translates scientific complexity into plain language and identifies the key information needed to tell compelling stories for media. In addition, Liz helps her clients position themselves within broader national and trade health news. At Trident, Liz has developed and executed communications strategies for a number of announcements and launches, including funding-round announcements, new-business launches, clinical-trial announcements, and announcements for the publication of new data in peer-reviewed journals.

Before joining Trident, Liz served as the Communications Director for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she advised the Chief Technology Officer and the Chief Data Officer on issue areas related to public affairs, communication strategy, and engagement with the startup community. Located in the Immediate Office of the HHS Secretary, the CTO’s Office is responsible for promoting innovation and partnerships between the federal government and the private sector. At HHS, Liz weaved together media and policy to develop and lead national campaigns for priority initiatives, including addressing the opioid epidemic and transforming kidney care. She also executed national health communication campaigns in partnership with the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Liz initially joined HHS as a Health Communication and eHealth ORISE Fellow before joining the CTO’s Office.

Liz earned an M.A. in Health Communication from Emerson College and a B.A. magna cum laude in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Franklin Pierce University.
