Simone Jackenthal is a Director with substantial experience leading and executing public relations, public affairs, and other strategic communications campaigns that encompass media relations and earned media, thought leadership and paid media. Simone’s experience spans a number of industries, including biotechnology, health, fintech, and legal cannabis, among others. She frequently works with reporters at top-tier national outlets, such as the New York Times, NBC News, Bloomberg, and the Wall Street Journal. Simone also has experience in crisis communications matters and in providing PR support for litigation.
Before joining Trident DMG, Simone worked at a top global public relations firm, where she served as Co-Chair of its DC Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. Before starting her career, Simone interned in the District Office of U.S. Representative Rush Holt and served as a Summer Fellow for the Obama presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
Outside the office, Simone serves as Treasurer for the LGBTQ Democrats of Montgomery County, fighting for equality in Maryland and supporting their advocacy efforts.
Simone graduated magna cum laude from the George Washington University, earning her B.A. in Political Communication and M.A. in Media and Strategic Communication. Simone worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, helping students with news writing, and also served as a Graduate Research Assistant for projects in the School of Media and Public Affairs. She completed a graduate thesis on the media framing effects of the Black Lives Matter Movement that was published in the Library of Congress.
