John Fisher is a Director at Trident DMG, where he focuses on strategic, corporate and crisis communications as well as public affairs. As a press strategist, John works closely with clients to deliver thoughtful and effective media strategy and execution, engaging journalists with engaging narratives and curated messaging to communicate client goals, whether on a proactive or rapid response footing. His experience spans clients across numerous industry sectors and years of building essential relationships with media organizations and journalists covering business, politics, tech, and more. John has worked extensively with major outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Financial Times, the major wire services, national and international cable and broadcast TV networks, regional and local news organizations, and a wide array of digital media, newsletters, influencers, and other outlets and programs.
John previously worked in NBC News Public Relations with the network’s political investigative unit, its White House correspondents, its Capitol Hill correspondents, as well as with Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, Nightly News with Lester Holt, TODAY and NBC News Digital programming. After years of foundational newsroom experience, John’s passion for politics and public affairs led him to Washington, D.C., where he continued to hone his storytelling skills through media relations, strategic and crisis communications, and content creation before joining Trident in 2022.
John attended Syracuse University and earned a B.S. in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science. He later attended The George Washington University, where he earned a M.P.S. in Strategic Public Relations. John is also a crisis services counselor with the Trevor Project, supporting LGBTQ+ young people across the country and is a volunteer with Special Olympics DC.
